Parents In Progress

Parents In Progress is a support service provided to clients during the process of adopting a child.  This monthly meeting provides an opportunity for families to meet others traveling on the same journey to be united with their child.  It is a fun time where stories, pictures, and adoption updates are shared.  We believe Parents In Progress provides an invaluable means for families to support one another during the sometimes difficult "waiting stages" of the adoption process.

Parents In Progress includes an Education Series providing information related specifically to adoption and cultural enrichment.  The series has twelve sessions and each session addresses a different topic.  WORLDWIDE has developed a Parent Manual that coincides with the sessions and provides each family with a copy for their personal use.

Parents In Progress also provides a convenient time for families to visit our library.  We developed the library especially for our families and it contains over 400 books for checkout.  Our library consists exclusively of books related to the topics of adoption, cultural enrichment and positive self-esteem.

Parents In Progress meets the third Saturday of each month and includes a light lunch.  It is a time to learn, a time for fellowship, and a time to meet parents and children who have completed their journey.  We feel it is very worthwhile to spend this time together and cultivate some very special and lasting friendships.
